COMMON QUESTIONS
Here are a few questions and answers that I am asked regularly:
Q. How long will my Jagua or Henna Stain last?
A. Both henna and Jagua stain the top layer of skin which means both will last the same amount of time. There is no definite time on how long your stain will last as everyone skin and routine wash/ exfoliation is different however it can last anywhere between 1-3 weeks depending on the area the paste is applied and how well you take care of your stain. Q. Will my Jagua Gel stain be black?
A. Jagua gel stains differently on every person ranging from a blue green shade to a dark blue/ black stain. The outcome of the stain depends on two factors the natural skin colour and how much heat it gets. Jagua loveesss heat and so does henna so the more hot you are and the more you keep yourself warm the better the outcome. Jagua will also vary depending on your skin tone the darker your skin the darker but don't worry if you don't have dark skin it will still show up a gorgeous vibrant blue. For a black stain purchase 100% Jagua Henna.
Q. Do you apply Black Henna?
A. Black henna tattoos are not based on henna at all, but a substance called paraphenylenediamine (PPD) which is found in hair dyes. PPD is allowed for use in hair dye, but its use for skin contact products, such as temporary tattoos, is illegal in the UK & Europe. I do not and will never apply black henna. Black henna contains dangerous chemicals which can cause adverse skin reactions and sometimes permanent scarring. To top it all off it can sometimes enter the blood stream which can cause harm to your liver and kidneys. Overall BLACK HENNA IS NOT SAFE!
If you would like a more natural alternative I would recommend Jagua especially our 100% Jagua Henna as this will stain black and does not use harmful chemicals like PPD.
Q. What is Jagua?
A. Jagua is a fruit from South America found in the amazonian rain forest. Jagua body painting is part of the daily life and sacred rituals of the Kayapo tribe in Brazil to create a blue-black stain adornment as well as ward of stinging insects, and has been used by the Native South Americans for thousands of years. It only recently has been popular in Europe.
Q. How do I book you?

When emailing me please add whether you would like henna or jagua, the day you would like to book me, your full postcode along with the type of henna (whether it is a bridal booking, private booking or for an event you are hosting).
Q. How far in advance do I need to book you?
A. Book me as soon as possible. My availability changes depending on the month and all dates are first come first serve. I am currently only taking Bridal bookings during 2021 to help limit the spread of COVID19.
Q. Do you apply henna for brides?
A. Yes! I apply henna for brides.
Q. Where are you based and do you travel?
A. I am based in Leicester, England. I am currently unavailable to travel due to limiting my bookings during COVID19, to prevent and limit the spread of the virus.
Q. Do you apply white henna?
A.Yes I do apply white henna. White henna will last on the body between 1-7 days and does not stain the skin like Jagua and henna does.I would always recommend applying white henna the night before your event.
Q. Can I still pray with henna/ jagua/ white henna on?
A. You can still pray with henna and jagua as both these stain your skin and therefore water can still reach your skin and the skin can be washed. White henna however is not the same as jagua and henna and sits on top of the skin rather than staining the skin. This means
that a barrier is formed between your skin and the water when making wudhu which in turn makes wudhu invalid.
Q. Can you apply any design?
A. Yes! If you haven't seen a design that you want on my page fret not as I can apply any design and love the challenge of trying new designs.
Q. What is white henna?
A.White henna is not really henna and the word henna is used just to describe the process of adorning the skin. The paste in which white henna uses consists of white body paint and body glue therefore making it safe for the skin. This then is applied to the skin which creates a white adornment that can last anywhere between 1-7 days depending on the area white henna is applied.
Q. Does your Henna/ Jagua contain harmful chemicals?
A. No! All the products which I use on my clients are free from harmful chemicals and completely natural and therefore makes it safe for skin applications however as with anything if you are allergic to any of the ingredients used in my henna and jagua products please let me know prior to your appointment.
Q. Are your temporary tattoos available in other designs?
A. Yes! If you would like a custom made design whether it be for your event or your big day don't hesitate to contact Safina and this can be arranged for you.
Q. Is my wudhu still valid with your temporary tattoos?
A. No! Im so sorry but unfortunately wudhu is not valid with my temporary tattoos. This is because it is something that sits on top of the skin which therefore creates a barrier on the skin where water can not reach.
